We treat our clients as family, evidenced in the fact that for over 40 years, we have had many repeat customers. Our reputation is most important and customer satisfaction is our goal. We stand behind every item we sell and never buy anything that we would not be proud to own. We welcome any questions and will be delighted to answer inquiries, but we do not sell on a trial basis. We try to be very thorough in our descriptions and pictures. My techs work diligently to provide you with clear and sufficient visual representation, but screens differ, colors can be off a little, and discrepancies can occur. If you have doubts concerning any aspect of a listed item, please ask. We are usually in the shop Monday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. You can reach us either by phone (615) 251-4721 or email(email@example.com). If you send a question outside of these times, chances are we will not receive it until the next day.
We are a verified PayPal member. We also accept Visa and Mastercard (United States only), money order, cashier’s check, or personal check. We allow 10 business days for personal checks to clear before item is shipped. We prefer to have payment within ten days of the close of auction. We will make every attempt to work with and accommodate our buyers should there be a change in circumstances, and the purchase is not possible. We are honest, we expect you to be the same.
Appraisals & Qualifications
Although a member of the International Society of Appraisers, we no longer offer appraisal services.
I have been doing appraisals for thirty years and have had extensive experience in almost every venue of the personal property appraisal field. I own and operate Pia’s Antique Gallery in Nashville, Tennessee, where we have been in the same location for over fifty years. I am the principle buyer for the store and most of the merchandise is handpicked by me through multiple channels, both local and national, as well as abroad. I am therefore very familiar with the current market value of antiques and collectibles.
In the past fourteen years, I have built a large Internet business, in which I sell my own items as well as brokering items for individuals from a single piece to an entire estate. I have modern computer systems as well as a brilliant technician who aids me in this endeavor. Along with using the Internet for research I also have an extensive Library. I also visit antique shows, museums, auctions, and travel extensively. I feel this gives me a wide exposure to worldwide trends in the Antique market. I have attended personal property appraisal seminars and successfully passed the Ethics exam portion for the Appraisal Society of America.
For five years 1988-93, I hosted meetings for the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers. In August of 1999, I traveled to the American Society of Appraisers Convention in Boston, Massachusetts, and attended several classes in personal property appraising as well as completing the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) course, and afterword took and passed the subsequent examination.
Served in court as an expert witness on several of my appraisals. Fully accredited member member for the International Society of Appraisers. 2003 ISA’s Expert Witness Course
We understand that selling antiques can be a difficult process. Here at Pia’s, we will sell your piece for you on the Internet, leaving all the hassles of answering questions, payment, shipping and packing to us. We take high resolution digital pictures of your item(s) and list your things for sale on the Internet. We sell items predominately through Ruby Lane, our own bricks and mortar store, our own website, and occasinally through eBay, to best expose your piece to the most people. We will continue to try and sell your item for as long as you wish, but will charge a small listing fee for items that are not sold and returned to the consignee. We charge a 40% commission on all sales.
We no longer offer estate liquidation.
