1890 Pink Ground Slip Painted Royal Crown Derby Vase

1890 Pink Ground Slip Painted Royal Crown Derby Vase

Presented for sale is a magnificent Royal Crown Derby porcelain vase decorated in a pink ground of elongated ovoid form, iron red mark for 1890. The vase is decorated in florals with white and yellow slip enamels picked up with raised gilt highlights.

Derby Porcelain, one of England’s most famous potters, began on Nottingham Road in 1756. King George III granted Derby the prestigious right to incorporate the crown into their backstamp. In 1877, they moved to Osmaton Road, which began their modern period and the use of their present name, Royal Crown Derby. They have remained one of the world’s most prestigious porcelain manufacturers. Their pieces are highly desirable for their intricate beauty and artistic workmanship.

The vase is in mint condition with little to no loss of gilt or enamels.
